Making an Investment in Women's Education

Dr. Maloney's gift allows her to protect her family while also investing in our students.

"We have to invest in women's education," says Dr. Mary Maloney '69, who is a Stoneleigh-Burnham Trustee.

Dr. Maloney, a leading skin cancer surgeon who chairs the Department of Dermatology at the University of Massachusetts Medical School, says, "I grew up in Vermont. It was an environment with a narrow viewpoint. At Stoneleigh-Burnham I met people from all over the world. The School solidified the idea that I could do anything I want with my life."

While looking for a way to provide for family and for her beloved Alma Mater, Dr. Maloney discovered that she could make a gift through life insurance. "Not only will my family have the full benefit of the insurance, but I can give a percentage to Stoneleigh-Burnham." By making a gift through life insurance, she found a smart and simple way to help young women benefit from the same all-girls' education that inspired her own life and career.
